Walking the line
The Brine Line Pipeline project starts at the Piccadilly mine and carries the brine water that is flooding the mine to the old mine in Cassidy Lake. There the Brine Water is processed to reduce the salt content to a similar level of seawater. Once finished, the processed water then travels through an existing pipeline that safely redirects it into the Bay of Fundy.

Zero down time
Safety Lead, Michael Brewer has been on site since January of this year. "There are 20 crews, about 140 people, on site and they've reached 137,815 work hours in six months. So far, there has been 1 first aid occurrence and no lost time incidents," says Brewer. The new 2-million-tonne potash mine and expanded milling operation in New Brunswick will be constructed over a four-year period at an estimated cost of CAN $1.66 billion.
"Maritime trades people are knowledgeable and great to work with. Safety is top priority and they're very receptive to the plans and training we've put into place."
- Michael Brewer, Leader Industries

The Right of Way goes around properties, up and down mountains, under roads, through golf courses and past houses. The terrain is constantly changing and each type presents its own set of safety challenges.

"The project is complex with many areas of planning to consider with environmental protection and preservation, natural resources, residential properties, traffic control and above all, the safety of every person involved."
- Nils Myhren, Leader Industries
